Midnight In Paris
Gil and Inez travel to Paris as a tag-along vacation on her parents` business trip. Gil (Owen Wilson) is a successful Hollywood writer but is struggling on his first novel. He falls in love with the city and thinks they should move there after they get married, but Inez (Rachel McAdams) does not share his romantic notions of the city or the idea that the 1920s was the golden age. When Inez goes off dancing with her friends, Gil takes a walk at midnight and discovers what could be the ultimate source of inspiration for writing. Gil`s daily walks at midnight in Paris could take him closer to the heart of the city but further from the woman he`s about to marry.

"My Life In Ruins" and "Vicky Christina Barcelona"
"Midnight In Paris" is a fantasy romantic comedy about the adventure of a screenwriter Gil, played by Owen Wilson who fantasize about the beautiful city of Paris while visiting with his fiance (played by Rachel McAdams) and her parents (played by Kurt Fuller and Mimi Kennedy) who are on an official business trip.
The writer feels that the usage of multiple eras (the 1920's, Renaissance period and Belle Époque), which was portrayed in the movie, showcases the variety and flexibility of the film. Plus setting the movie in probably one of the world's most romantic location, Paris, really served well for director Woody Allen.
But the reviewer feels that the performance by Owen Wilson as Gil was mediocre at best. Marion Cotillard's role however, was a brighter spot and more compelling than Wilson even though her character is only a supporting one in the movie.
Speaking of supporting casts, the one in the movie is a huge one that includes Michael Sheen, France's First Lady- Carla Burni, Adrien Brody, Tom Hiddleston, Kathy Bates, and Allison Pill, who all play famous literature writers, with the exception of France First Lady Carla Burni who plays the role of a museum guide.
The reviewer also feels that this movie is good, but not as great as Woody Allen's previously acclaimed movie such as "Match Point" and "Vicky Cristina Barcelona", where both movies received many award nominations.
Do give "Midnight In Paris" a go if you are a fan of an artsy movie and have a soft spot for stories set amidst the beautiful backdrop of the city of Paris.
