Well since 2007's action fantasy thriller film "Ghost Rider" received overwhelming responses from fans after its release, the film's sequel "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance" was picked and followed up on - just about five years later.

Despite his mediocre performance in the last movie, 49-year-old Nicholas Cage is selected to reprise his role as the stunt-devil Johnny Blaze, by both directors of the film, Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor - known for directing action-pack films like "Gamer" and "Crank".

In the film, the deal with Johnny - also known as the demon-superhero Ghost Rider, is that he is still struggling with the curse of being the devil's bounty hunter that was bestowed upon him in the first film - after making an agreement with Roarke (Ciaran Hinds) aka The Devil himself. However, he gambles his life when he teams up with a chief monk name Moreau who promises to relieve him of the curse forever, but only if he successfully rescues a young boy from Roarke.

The film has a plot which is pretty much easy to understand and straightforward, though, there are segments in the film that get quite draggy - which may cause audiences to feel bored, hoping they could skip certain parts and move on to the next scene. The sequel did however, succeed in capturing attention at the end of the film, unlike the first.

Cage certainly lived up to his title as an Academy Award winner, for he did not disappoint fans of the movie this time with his splendid talent of bringing life to both his characters, Johnny Blaze and Ghost Rider. Sadly, smoking hot Hollywood starlet Eva Mendes did not return for the sequel, as a beautiful Italian actress by the name of Violante Placido has been given her golden opportunity in to star in her second English film as Nadya, a doting mother.

In the first film, Ghost Rider was seen only riding his masculine motorcycle, now a car has been implemented into the script as well - but not just any ordinary car, this car turns into a blazing heat-machine on fire. The visuals and effects team did an amazing job with some parts of the film, making it seem real and interesting enough - where of some of the other segments are just plain disappointing.

"Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance" is also screened in 2D and 3D versions for this film.
