Jurassic Park (3D)
A 3D re-release of Steven Spielberg`s 1993 epic science fiction adventure thriller film that was based on the novel of the same name by Michael Crichton in conjunction with its 20th anniversary in 2013. The film centres on the fictional Isla Nublar near Costa Rica in the Central American Pacific Coast, where a billionaire philanthropist and a small team of genetic scientists have created an amusement park of cloned dinosaurs. Things go awry when the park`s security system is deactivated during a theft of dinosaur embryos, which leads to all electric fences around the park to stop functioning. Their only hope is to reboot the park`s computer and electrical network, but can they survive long enough to do so?

"Jurassic Park" has been a family favourite since it was first released in 1993. To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Steven Spielberg brings long-time fans on a nostalgic journey as well as introduce new audiences to the wonders of (the now spruced up) "Jurassic Park" in 3D.
For those of you who have not seen the movie before, it is about a theme park built by a billionaire who dreams of sharing the wonders of his prized attractions; beautiful giants that once ruled the earth brought back to life, made possible by scientific technology. Like every kind of park, problems arise and in this case, it is literally in colossal proportions. This is where the adventure begins.
Although the movie is not as colourfully immersed in effects as "Avatar", you will still appreciate the movie's various details like its epic score from John Williams. Its orchestral chords compliment the dinosaurs' roars beautifully over the shots of these creatures roaming, which were made to look so life-like, as if it were taken for a documentary. Moreover, this movie just proves how brilliant the works of Stan Winston in the creature design department making the dinosaurs look astoundingly real and still leaving us in awe 20 years later.
The movie was kept as it was as the director did not want to alter it with additional scenes or sound effects. However, the 3D makeover worked really well with scenes with overlooking fields and the iconic shot of water ripples in a cup from whenever a Tyrannosaurus-Rex stomps. You can hear each dinosaur's roar satisfyingly clear and will definitely enjoy the suspenseful action of being chased by raptors, especially when the depth between you and the giant jaws of the T-Rex gets excitingly closer and closer.
The movie's makeover enhances the audience's experience of "Jurassic Park" making it the perfect thrill-seeking movie for you and your family to enjoy, no matter which generation of moviegoer you are. Just tell the young ones to bear in mind that this movie was made in the 90s so excuse the use of floppy disks and CD-ROMs in the scenes, because you would not want to miss this chance to get up close with dinosaurs.
