This is Bejoy Nambiar's second film after his impressive debut in Bollywood with "Shaitan". This time around his film is released in both Tamil and Hindi languages.

"David" revolves around two people named David who hail from different backgrounds and live in different time zones. David (Vikram) is an easy going Goan fisherman whom sees drinking as a way of life and fall for his friend's girlfriend, Roma (Isha Sharwani) who is a deaf and mute. The other David (Jiiva) is an aspiring guitarist in Mumbai who tries hard to join a lead music troop, but faith drags his family into a trouble with local politician. How they overcome their situations and make the right decisions form the message of the film.

It is the second time Vikram is casted in a Hindi film after "Raavaan". Although he plays it cool and easy as always, his role seems to be irritating after some time with his alcoholic way of life. Jeeva's adequate performance in the film gives the whole film a life of its own while Isha Sharwani is refreshing and confident in her role. Supporting cast like Naseer, Tabu and Lara Dutta are also adequate in their respective roles.

One positive point to note is the film's soundtrack, which consist of varies trendsetting composers like Remo, Prasath and Anirudh. Peppy songs like "Maria Pitache" and 'Kanave Kanave' are the picks of the album.

The director's style of frequently switching between these two stories in different time periods and converging them later is appreciable. The cinematography visuals are neat and slick for the story. Instead of following the usual predictable storyline, the director tried new approach to the script, but too bad it was not engaging enough and drags in some places.

On whole, the two Davids only deliver half of the expectations.
