The Good, the Bad and the Bots:

• Despite the presence of Gillian Anderson and Ben Kingsley, the cast is not an appealing combination onscreen.

• Its low budget limits the movie somewhat, as the event in the movie is a global phenomenon but feels more like an isolated case as it mostly takes place in England with little to no mention of the outside world.

• It seems like an interesting fusion of "Doctor Who" and "Transformers", but fails to live up to expectations.

Trivia:

• The Deep Scanner machine resembles the main monster from "Grabbers", a 2012 film also directed by Jon Wright.
