The Good, the Bad and the Baymax:

The girls have got "Frozen" and now the boys have got something to rave about too. "Big Hero 6" is a heartwarming tale following the bond between brothers wrapped in an awesome superhero punch for all ages. This 'love letter' to Japan by Walt Disney, combines all the elements of Tokyo with San Franscisco to create San Fransokyo, the city where the story is set. Spot the elements of Tokyo's design via its take on the Pagoda-esque Brooklyn bridge, the cat coffee cafes, colourful neon lights on sloping roads, police cars, botanical gardens and more. This superhero movie from Marvel brings the East and West together through this marriage of elements which is also apparent in its lead character, Hiro Hamada, who looks noticeably of mix parentage (Caucasian and Japanese). Perhaps the biggest (pun intended) draw of this movie will be the huge white healthcare robot turned superhero, Baymax, that will surely have a fan following of its own through its comedic timing, deadpan gags and play on emotions at the right times in the movie. Speaking of emotions, the film carries unexpected moments of emotions that may make one teary eyed more than once. A wonderfully done visual feast of an action animation movie, coupled with a human story and a blending of cultures for a worldy superhero movie.

Trivia:

The movie held its world premiere in Tokyo on the 23 of October 2014. It is re-titled as "Baymax" for Japan.

Watch Out For:

An animated cameo from Stan Lee. The typical Marvel Easter eggs and also stay tuned for the end credits scene!

Best Watched With:

Fans of animation, superhero movies and also families who are looking for a good movie experience.
