The Good, the Bad and the Rajini: It is always a perilous task been assigned to review a Rajinikanth movie, but for the sake of letting the viewer know what their getting into, here goes... For a film with a Hollywood sized budget, you would expect the visual effects to be on par or at least close to that of Hollywood as well, but sadly there is still more work to be done for the film that ends up looking like an Indian version of "The Sims" game. The sub-standard script which is meant for a live-action feature is forced into a bombastic animation that in the end doesn't quite fit to deliver an equally bombastic film. Regardless, diehard fans of Rajinikanth will still love this as it immortalises the actor to epic proportions which may correctly reflect how some really 'hero worship' the star in their minds regardless of how far-fetched from reality the eternal South Indian superstar really is. This is one of the films Rajinikanth will be remembered for, not for its mediocre story, but for the way it captures his heroic aura in a fantasy-like state.

Look Out For: The cinematography designs of the overall historical based backdrop is rather decent, but look out for an animated Jackie Shroff and a Barbie doll-like Deepika Padukone, whom when the latter smiles, looks a little creepy.

Trivia: The movie was made on a budget of USD25 million and serves as the directorial debut of Rajinikanth's daughter, Soundarya R. Ashwin. In Malaysia, "Kochadaiiyaan" is released in Hindi, Tamil and a Telegu version called "Vikramasimha". Only LFS State Cineplex in Petaling Jaya is showing the 3D version of the film while other cinemas are screening it in 2D.

Best Watched With: Diehard fans of Rajinikanth so you can all cheer and shout together for your hero on-screen.
