The Good, the Bad and the Star-chasers:

• The movie is able to show a dark side of Hollywood that everyone wishes they could unsee, but will watch the movie again just to delve into that darkness, intrigued but glad that they are not part of it in reality.

• All the cast did amazing as their characters, especially Julianne Moore who makes an emotional portrayal of Havana Segrand - an actress abused by her own mother.

• Cinematographer Peter Suschitzky's skills shine through with the way it highlights the beauty of something ugly in his every shot.

Trivia:

• Canadian director David Cronenberg has never filmed anything in the United States until this movie.
