The Crossing Part 2

After the steamer "Taiping" docked at the harbor, passengers swarm onto the ship, including Ze Kun, Yu Zhen and Da Qing. "Taiping" sets sail from the pier on 27 January 1949, and the passengers celebrate the Lunar New Year on board. Everything is going fine and everyone is happy until a careless and unfortunate mistake is made - the drunken sailors in the control room have put the ship onto a collision course. When a loud crashing sound is heard, the passengers on board panic. The steamer has crashed into another vessel named "Jian Yuan", which is sinking rapidly. Ze Kun then realises that "Taiping" will also meet the same fate.

Watch this if you liked: “Titanic”

The Good, the Bad and the Sunken Ship:

• The first part of the film didn't deliver well hence the second part also suffers similar fate.

• The film has way too much backstory on the characters, and the process used in telling it is kind of slow and boring.

• Even though the film is recognised as the Chinese version of "Titanic", it is nowhere near "Titanic".

• The special effects and acting of the passengers drowning in water are bad, as in it looks fake, and even the extras look like they are not even trying.

• The climax of the film seems a bit rushed and everything is all over the place.
