Watch this if you liked: “Kidnapping Mr. Heineken”, “Taken” series, “Ransom”

The Good, the Bad and the Kidnapped:

• Based on the true story of the kidnapping of famed actor Wu Ruofo (who also appears in the movie but as a cop), Andy Lau pulled off the character very well despite having to do most of his acting in a very limited space.

• Action scenes are not short in the movie, and they only intensify toward the end. Though the too fast pacing and overused handheld shaky cams might be a little too much action and will tire out the audiences.

• The movie does not stand out much in terms of emotion or even intellect, but it has enough to keep audiences glued to the screen. Some of the scenes sometime seems detached to the main plot but they do at least give extra action scenes for the action movie buffs in the crowd.

Trivia:

• "Saving Mr. Wu" won Best Film and Best Actor (Andy Lau) at Silk Road Film Festival 2015 even before it was officially released.
