The Good, the Bad and the Brothers-In-Law: The film has delivered the main objective it set out to do - to make people laugh. Like its predecessor, the film is a fun buddy cop comedy that will take you on an enjoyable yet adventurous ride.
Set exactly a year after the event from the first film, former high school security guard Ben Barber is now a full-fledged cop but he is now eager to become a detective.
Though his wedding day approaches, Ben sets out on a journey to Miami with his soon-to-be brother in law James Payton, to solve a huge drug dealing case, and that's where the hilarity begins.
With the combination of Ice Cube as the serious straight man, and Kevin Hart as the adorable funny man - the jokes, puns and slapstick humour between the two main cast couldn't be more hilarious.
Also, with the addition of Ken Jeong and Olivia Munn in the sequel, the whole case had just gotten even wilder and crazier than before as the two of them are another pair of team made up of a 'straight man' and 'funny man'.
However, for those who didn't watch the first film, they may find it hard to adjust to the characters, its setting and plot when the film first starts, but that would only last about less than 10 minutes as one could easily catch the drift.
Like the first movie, the sequel is filled with black comedy and humour, but they are not as insensitive or rude as the usual borderline offensive black jokes, because the ones in the film are actually considered quite subtle.
Nevertheless, if you don't like or don't get this kind of humour, this film might not be your cup of tea. But it is definitely recommended for those who do enjoy the black humour style of comedy.
Trivia• The film was first suggested to be titled as "Ride 2gether".
