Watch this if you liked: The “Insidious” franchise

The Good, the Bad and the Mysterious evil:

• Not as scary as its predecessors but can hold its own as a jumpy horror flick.

• The overuse of the jump scare formula makes it more annoying than scary to watch. But it'll drag out the screams from anyone jumpy and easily spooked.

• The overall effect still feels like a mashup of other horror movies like "Amityville" and "Poltergeist", but the storyline is heart-warming (though delivered in a scary way).

Trivia:

• This is the first "Insidious" movie not directed by James Wan, as he was busy with "Fast and Furious 7", but he did make a cameo in it.
