The Good, the Bad and the Ghost-Kicking Ladies: Like many remakes and reboots, fans are always worried when a certain classic movie is given a new spin to cater to today's generation. This was the buzz the all-new female-powered "Ghostbusters" movie had initially generated with its trailers.
Well now that the D-day has finally arrived, the truth is that the movie is not really as bad as people think. It is safe to say that many had prematurely bashed, condemned and predicted the outcome of the movie which they have yet to watch, without even giving it a chance.
But first things first, no matter what, we have to admit that the reboot will never be able to replace the original crowd's favourite, and it isn't trying to - if anything, the film feels more like a tribute to the original "Ghostbusters".
Like the original movie, the reboot is a fun family comedy catered for all ages - in fact, it has a lighter tone compared to the original too!
The movie is also by no means 'man-hating'. If the original "Ghostbusters" is about brotherhood, then the new one is all about girl power!
All we can confirm is that the movie is hilarious and colourful, and the four leads are nothing but amazing especially the antics of Kate McKinnon!
Most importantly, the CGI is great, and if you are a true fan of the original, you would appreciate this movie more and the many nods it delivers to the classic!
Trivia: • Some of the other female actresses who were considered to be the female Ghostbusters included Anna Faris, Alyssa Milano, Emma Stone, Rebel Wilson and Jennifer Lawrence.
