Based on the 2010 book of the same name by Michael Lewis, the film follows four outsiders, Michael Burry, Mark Baum, Jared Vennett and Ben Rickert, who predicted the collapse of the credit and housing bubble in the mid-2000s, thus they decided to take on the big banks for their lack of foresight and greed.

• An engaging film with knowledge that educates the audience in a comical but effective way.

• The comedy in the film is really smart and it is creatively used to serve as filler of the film that deals with a very serious subject.

• Entertaining and delightful performance from the four main cast who were both humorous and smart in their respective roles.

Trivia:

• This is Ryan Gosling's first film after going on a hiatus back in 2013.
