In his latest adventure, Ash Ketchum meets the Mythical Pokemon Volcanion who crashes down from the sky, and a mysterious force binds the two of them together. Volcanion hates humans and tries to get away from them, but it is forced to drag Ash along on its rescue mission. Ash and his team, along with Volcanion, arrive in a city of cogs and gears, where a corrupt minister has stolen the ultimate invention known as the Artificial Pokemon Magearna which was created 500 years ago, and he plans on using its mysterious power to take control of the mechanical kingdom.

The Good, the Bad and the Mechanical Kingdom:

• Like every other Pokemon movie, a typical bad guy appears and messes something up and it is up to Ash and the gang to stop him and save the day.

• Despite a predictable plot, the story itself is enjoyable featuring must-have elements in kid's movies like comedy, adventure, friendship and fantasy.

• Of course, the movie introduces a couple of likeable new characters and Pokemons which have colourful personalities and characteristics and are just fun to watch.

• The animation and art has improved commendably compared to previous movie editions and the soundtrack and background music were very attuned to the mood and setting of each moment.

Trivia:

• Volcanion is the only Pokemon with both fire and water attributes.
