Denial

Based on the book "History on Trial: My Day in Court with a Holocaust Denier", the story recounts the legal battle for historical truth between acclaimed writer and historian, Deborah E. Lipstadt, and English Holocaust denier, David Irving, who accuses Lipstadt of libel. In the English legal system, in cases of libel, the burden of proof falls on the accused, so it is up to Lipstadt and her legal team, led by Richard Rampton, to prove that the Holocaust indeed occurred.

• A movie with a compelling story driven by smart dialogue instead of action, backed by a talented ensemble of cast.

• Based on a true story, the riveting courtroom drama is very thought-provoking and raises a lot of interesting questions and points that many would not have thought about.

• While the film correctly debunks the distortion of history in the pursuit of a political agenda, it is important to keep the issue in perspective.
