After her divorce, Rachel Watson takes the train to work every day, and each day, the train passes by her old house, which her ex-husband now lives in with his new wife and child. To distract herself from her pain, she starts to look at a pair of young couple who lives a few houses down, Megan and Scott Hipwell, and every day, she would fantasise about how happy they are as a family. But one day, she sees something shocking and is filled with rage. The next morning, she wakes up with a horrible hangover, various wounds and bruises, and no memory of the night before. Then she sees on TV that Megan Hipwell has gone missing. Rachel decides to investigate what happened to Megan and also try to find out what has she been doing the same night Megan went missing.

Watch this if you liked: “Gone Girl”

The Good, the Bad and the Dismal Train Ride :

• Despite being the author's bestselling book, the movie version of it is nowhere near the level of the author's other movie-adapted work, "Gone Girl", which was a huge commercial success.

• The movie is slow, dull and poorly executed including the direction, screenplay and editing.

• Though the movie isn't exactly terrible, but the puzzle, mystery and twist aren't very exciting, and the ending is anticlimactic.

• However, even in a mediocre movie, Emily Blunt is incredibly amazing in her role and she delivers it perfectly well, almost as good as Rosamund Pike in "Gone Girl".

Trivia:

• The movie is based on Paula Hawkins' novel of the same name, which is the fastest-selling adult novel in history.
