The Favourite

Set in the early 18th century when England is at war with the French. A frail Queen Anne occupies the throne but it is her close friend Lady Sarah who governs the country in her stead. When new servant Abigail arrives, she is taken under Sarah`s wing and later fills in as the Queen`s companion when the politics of war keeps Sarah too busy to tend to the Queen. Abigail sees this as a chance to return to her aristocratic roots and will not let anything or anyone stand in her way.
