The magical vessel is first discovered by a poor milkman a long time ago, while digging a well on his farm. The vessel helps him become a rich man. It ends up being stolen but the thieves who have gotten hold of it lose it in a river while trying to make their escape. When it is found by an old woman years later, she decides the best place to hide it is under the cowshed on her neighbour`s farm. When, in jail, she meets two women and befriends them, she tells them about the secret. Hoping to own the magical vessel, the two women plot together to find and acquire it.
