30 Nov – After much speculations as to whether he will be involved in politics or not, Matthew McConaughey revealed that he will not be running for Governor in Texas. The actor shared his decision on social media on 28 November, with a video where he shared his thoughts about political leadership and what he learned for the past couple of years about the US politics.
However, despite the many lessons he learned, the actor stated that he has decided that it is "a path" that he is "not choosing to take" at this moment. "I'm going to continue to work and invest the bounty I have by supporting entrepreneurs, businesses and foundations that I believe are creating pathways for people to succeed in life. Organisations that have a mission to serve and build trust while also generating prosperity. That's the American dream," he added. McConaughey shared his decision soon after a poll revealed that he could gain more support than both Republican's Greg Abbott and Democratic candidate Beto O'Rourke.
