14 Apr – It seems definite that director Guy Ritchie's next project is indeed another film adaptation of "King Arthur", as Warner Bros. recently announced a 22 July 2016 release date in 2D and 3D for the film, according to Collider. Ritchie is replacing David Dobkin ("The Change-Up") in the director's chair based on a script by Joby Harold ("Awake"). Word is that the "Sherlock Holmes" director is looking to turn the film into a franchise with as many as six films if possible. Warner Bros. has been looking to produce a "King Arthur" film for quite some time. Initial plans saw the film getting the title "Arthur & Lancelot", Dobkin at the helm and actors Kit Harington and Joel Kinnaman as the leads, but the studio had to pull the plug due to budget concerns. There is still no word on when production will begin on "King Arthur", but Ritchie is currently in the midst of post-production work on another film for Warner Bros., "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." starring Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer.
