8 Aug - Daisy Ridley recently opened up about her health situation, saying that she had been diagnosed with Graves' disease last year.

The actress, who sat down with Women's Health Magazine recently, shared that she began feeling symptoms of increased heart rate, rapid weight loss, exhaustion and trembling hands after filming Sam Yates' thriller movie, "Magpie".

"I thought, Well, I've just played a really stressful role, presumably that's why I feel poorly,'" Ridley said.

However, after describing her condition to her doctors, she was told that she has similar symptoms of the disease.

"It was funny, I was like, Oh, I just thought I was annoyed at the world. But turns out everything is functioning so quickly, you can't chill out," she said.

However, Ridley said that she is feeling much better after deciding to cut out gluten from her already vegan diet, as well as adding other treatments including cryotherapy and acupuncture.

"I do a fair amount of the holistic stuff, but I also understand that it is a privilege to be able to do those things," she added, after saying that she also carried a piece of rose quartz with her that she believes promote self-love.

Graves' disease is an immune system condition that affects the thyroid gland. It causes the body to make too much thyroid hormone. Some of the symptoms include weight loss, hand tremor, oedema, and irritability.
