8 Nov – Malaysian animated film "Upin & Ipin: Keris Siamang Tunggal" continues to achieve success after success, as it is set to be screened at Los Angeles' Laemmle Glendale for a week starting from today. The screening of the Les' Copaque Production movie is done for making the qualifying run for the Best Animated Feature category in next year's Academy Awards. A total of 32 movies will be competing in the category, according to Animation Magazine, and this marks the first time for an animated film from Malaysia to qualify for it. It is set to compete for a spot in the Oscar nominees list with fellow toons like ""Frozen II", "Toy Story 4", "How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World", "The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part" and more. Aside from that, the "Upin Ipin" movie will also be screened today at the Asian World Film Festival that is running for a week, until 14 November, at Culver City's ArcLight Cinemas.
