28 Mar – Despite the mixed reviews it has been receiving, "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" proves to be a force to be reckoned with as it opened at the Singapore weekend box office with a collection of more than SGD4.57 million. The superhero movie is Warner Bros. Singapore's highest-opening weekend, best opening weekend Friday takings and fourth-biggest industry opening of all time in Singapore. "Anticipation for "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" has been building across Singapore and these incredible results are a testament to not only the enduring appeal of these global icons but the power of the epic cinematic showdown Zack Snyder and his brilliant cast and crew have delivered," said Mr Ng Peng Hui, Managing Director of Warner Bros. Singapore, in a statement. "We couldn't be more thrilled with the film's incredible debut and strong word-of-mouth and repeat business promises to propel its success well into the season." The superhero movie, which brings Batman and Superman together on the big screen for the first time ever, opened across 138 screens in Singapore on 24 March 2016. The movie also features Wonder Woman as well as several snippets of the other Justice Leagues members. Directed by Zack Snyder, "Batman v Superman" follows Batman (Ben Affleck) as he takes on Superman (Henry Cavill). The two heroes have to set aside their differences and, along with Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), stop Metropolis from being destroyed by Lex Luthor.
