19 Aug – Vijay Varma recently revealed that Shah Rukh Khan actually wanted to play the role of Hamza Shaikh in the Netflix movie, "Darlings".
The actor, who played the role in the Alia Bhatt-starrer, stated that the Bollywood superstar was interested in the character, who is an alcoholic who beats his wife, and one that was given to Vijay.
"I remember somebody had told me that when Shah Rukh read the script, he said, 'If I was younger, I would've done this role', which was interesting for me to hear," he said.

The fact that SRK had wanted the role, said Vijay, also made him more confident about doing it.
"That was also one of the reasons I felt that I could do this role, if Shah Rukh Khan thinks that he can do this role, being an absolute lover-boy and a sweetheart. Of course, I was scared to take up a role like this, but I'm very glad that it hit the nail on the head," he added.
The movie, which marks Alia Bhatt's debut as a producer through Eternal Sunshine, is also produced by SRK's Red Chillies Entertainment.
On the other hand, Vijay is soon to join the cast of "Lust Stories 2" as part of Sujoy Ghosh's segment.
